When have you felt like "a fish out of water"?

I was the only female out of ten men sitting at the Texas Hold'em table in Lake Tahoe. They all thought it would be easy to take my money (and unfortunately, it was...)

It was homecomming night and about two hours in I got board. Just sick of dancing but everyone else were still going. I felt board and out of my element to make things better.

I was the only whale out of ten women running at the Wisconsin drop'em table in Lake Erie. They all thought it would be drunk to take my children (and unfortunately, it was...)

I felt like a fish out of water when I was stuck in a van with 6 girls singing every song that came on the radio.

I felt like a "fish out of water" when I was the new kid in a class full of students who had known each other all of their lives.

At the mason vs. Fairfield game, there were hundreds of students dressed in all black in the mason student section. Our student section, however, was not so hot. They definately showed us up.

The day I sailed above the fish while all the others puked their guts out is my moment. And I was the one who ate the most sausage links for breakfast.

Practically everyday, especially when I'm surrounded by those who worship the tediousness of mathematics....

I definitely felt like a fish out of water when I went to New York a few years ago. Everything was so fast-paced and crowded and not to insult New Yorkers, but they were rude and they got on my nerves. haha I couldn't wait to get back to the burbs'

I felt like a fish out of water when I moved here from Hamilton, and had no friends, and cried a lot, and was alone, but I still liked school.

I felt like a fish out of water when a friend and I got lost in NYC and were supposed to meet people in an hour. We ended up being on the total opposite end of Manhattan.

I felt like a fish out of water when I played on the varsity team my sophomore year and had to train with seniors and juniors that I didn't know.

Yes, I felt like a fish out of water on a couple occasions, though the worst was one my first day of seventh grade. I was a new student who had never been to a public school before. The crowed hallways, getting lost, and not knowing where I was going made me feel like a fish gasping for air when out of water, trying hard to fit in. Eventually I found my way.

I feel like I'm a fish out of water whenever I'm the only optimistic one in a group. Sometimes being serounded by negative people is more stiffling than not having air to breath.
