How do you see the book ending? Do you think Ishmael and/or Queequeg will interact or conflict with Ahab in the future? What about the phantoms? Will the crew be used for "whale bait"?

To be honest, I have no clue how the book is going to end. This book has thrown me off a lot and anything is possible, but I wish it would end by the mates throwing Ahab overboard and Moby finishing him off. Sorry, but I think Ahab is nuts.

You know, I think the book will end exactly how Fedallah predicted it in the Whale Watch chapter. Ahab will die by hemp, and everyone will probably die with him. End result: Moby wins!

I have no idea how the book is going to end but I would like to see Ahab kill Moby Dick for robbing him of his leg and become the most famous whaler in the history of whaling and get filthy rotten rich.

Dear MobysEye-

1) You stole my comment
2) Way to ruin the book.

But I agree completely, and I thought it was fantastic how Melville just slipped that in there, as hemp primarily only evokes nooses and gallows. I also liked Ahab's foolhardy reaction, because it only further proves his "invincible" madness and obsession.

This is cheating I just finished the book so I'll make an alternate ending:
Moby is cornered in the gulf of Mexico and Ahab is looking into his eyes with the harpoon raised. As he lowers the final blow the Deus Ex Machina Kobe Bryant dunks in Moby's blowhole, blowing up the whale thus ending the novel.

I hope that nobody dies but Ahab. I really hate him in case anyone hasn't noticed. Ahab is the only one who deserves to die. I think that once the crew goes after Moby, Ahab will be so filled with rage that he will slip up and Moby will gobble him to pieces. :) Then Starbuck will take everyone home and Moby will live happily ever after :):):)

well since the map in the book shows the ship sinking I'm going to assume the ship sinks, and the poem we read states no one survives but the fish and Ish i am also going to guess Ishmael is the only survivor of the the novel after Moby gets done with them

I think that Ahab will kill Moby, but prior to dying Moby will inflict a fatal blow, killing Ahab as well. I also think that Ishmael will die because he's just not cut out to survive out in the ocean. The other sailors seem to be fit and healthy enough to survive.
